CANINES IN ACTION
dogshowvideo.com
WHAT WE DO:
We videotape National dog shows using BROADCAST QUALITY DVC-PO Panasonic Cameras (750 LPI -lines per inch- Resolution) which film the shows on very high-end expensive digital tapes, then render DVDs from mpeg files produced in our editing suite on computers.  The DVD's replicated in this process are burned DVD's and differ from Hollywood mass-produced DVD's which are glass mastered (longer-lasting  and not as easily damaged).  The information  files stored on the burned DVDs (a process by which the inked surface of a blank DVD  is etched) is then read by your DVD Player which produces the image on your screen.  Currently we use DVD-R single layer and DVD+R Dual layer  (longer playing for large classes) DVD's.
MATERIAL WARRANTY:
We guarantee replacement of any defective within 30 days from purchase at no charge.  You may obtain replacement DVDs at any time thereafter for a small fee.

3 SERVICE PLANS AVAILABLE:

ALL DVD PLAYERS ARE N-O-T THE SAME
Due to lack of standardization within the industry be aware that all DVD Players are not the same, some will not play all types of files.  Though there may be nothing wrong with your DVDs some players will fail to read certain files, or may be ultra sensitive to fingerprints, dust or scratches on DVD surface.  Handle DVD's carefully holding only at the edges, use care when taking them from player to case, etc, not to scratch playing surface, and keep from heat and moisture.
WE RECOMMEND that you clean your player with a laser cleaning disc after several playings and that you clean your DVD with a cleaning kit if you have any pixilating or stalling problems.  These items are available at Best Buys.
HOW LONG WILL DVDs LAST?
There is not a singular opinion on this since tape has existed for decades and digital does not have a history yet.  PC World has many articles written with divergent opinions on the stability of digital DVD media vs. analog tape media for long-term  preservation.  Tape has had as many as 20 to 100 years  storage capability, depending upon the emulsion, the storage environment (dry, cool, dark); digital may have that possibility, as well, depending upon what process is used (glassed vs. burned) and storage environment.  But only time will tell us for certain.
